Buzz Off Mozzies!

Not sure if it's due to the change in weather, there have been lotsa mosquitoes in our house recently. Daddy and mummy have done all the necessary checks at home to make sure that there's no breeding ground in the house. We don't have any fish tank nor pots in the house and all pails in the toilets are always facing down to prevent any stagnant of water. Despite daddy and mummy purchasing all sorts of mosquitoe repellent, anti-mosquitoe spray, patch and equipment trying to chase away the mozzies, still it attacked our house. So, they know it must be from the roof slab beside our house. There's this huge roof slab connecting our block to the neighbouring block and on several occasions, mummy witnessed mosquitoes flying in.

About 3 weeks ago, mummy slept with me in my room. There must be so many mosquitoes around that mummy woke up with swollen eyes, cheeks and ear the next morning. Not only that, mummy's arms, legs and neck weren't spare too. She was bugged by the irritating mosquitoes in the middle of the night. She wanted to pull up the blanket to cover herself so the mosquitoes won't bite her, but she was thinking if the mosquitoes got no one to feed on, they'll attack me. So, mummy had no choice but to kick away the blanket. But still, she found 2 mosquitoe bites on my arm the next morning. Mummy was furious. She did feedback to the town council before but nothing was done. This time round, mummy is not going to sit on it coz there' me. She wrote in to NEA to feedback and complain about the issue. NEA was much more efficient, they emailed and called mummy to follow up on the issue. Mummy was desparate and went over to the neighbouring block to check on the condition after the town council feedback that the roof is not the breeding ground. True enough, the young couple who also has a toddler at home also wrote in to TC recently to complain about the mosquitoe breeding problem at the roof top. This made mummy more certain and determine to make sure the TC do something to the problem. Sad to say, TC did not reply any of mummy's email, they only dare to communicate verbally despite mummy's request for a written reply. Anyway, NEA called after a few days reporting that they've made rounds to the estate and found several mosquitoe breeding grounds, but said the locations are confidential. Phew, there's really great improvement after that. At least mummy and daddy no longer need to go round the house "staring in blank" trying to look out for mosquitoes.

Check out the mozzie kisses on my face. Sob sob.....

See the mosquitoe bite on my right arm? That's just one of it. Hopefully that's the last.

In Memory of 婆婆

I've never penned anything down on 婆婆 before coz i never the chance to meet her. 10 years ago, on this very day,婆婆 left her loved ones. Today marks her lunar 10th death anniversary. Mummy misses 婆婆 so so much coz 婆婆's death came as a shock to the entire family. 婆婆 was not bugged by any illnesses, just that some inhumane people decided to take her away. In fact 婆婆 was such a modern and pretty lady whom i'm sure i would be so proud of to have her as my 婆婆, if only she's still alive. I love you, 婆婆. And hope you could see my blog.

It's really such an ironic coz mummy celebrated 公公's 65th birthday yesterday. Mummy wrapped her arms around 公公 shoulder while strolling back home and casually asked how life has been these 65 years. Is he happy? 公公 replied "我的任务就到这里". Mummy was shocked and felt heavy hearted. At that very moment, mummy felt that her heart was tearing but she controlled her emotion and told 公公 not to be silly. Mummy wants 公公 to witness me going to school and wear that square hat after i graduated from university.

Actually, mummy is uncertain whether that was only a casual remark from 公公 or was it mummy being over-sensitive. She became very protective of 公公 after 婆婆's death 10 years ago. Mummy would tear and be very sad and all the bad thoughts would start rolling down mummy's mind if 公公 feel a tad unwell. 公公 has been one of mummy's best confidant all these years, he is one of best man in the world. So, i really wish 公公 to be happy and healthy forever. I love you, 公公!

Camera R.I.P

Mummy's camera went on strike hence no photo update till daddy bring it for repair. Daddy has been persuading mummy to change a new digital camera for the past few months, but mummy insisted not coz the Olympus digi camera has been serving her well since she was abt 5 months preggy. The camera is still under warranty, hopefully it can still be repaired.

Mummy feels so handicapped without the digital camera around, especially during the weekends when she will spend all her time with me.

This faithful camera has seen through mummy's pregnancy till this day when she decided to take a short rest. Get well soon, digi!

Hmm...come to think about it, could daddy be the culprit behind the faulty camera??? Kee kee...

1st Dip Into The Pool

Went swimming for the 1st time with cousin Rayden & Dyan last Sunday morning. Daddy bought me the thermal swim wear months ago and i finally have the chance to parade it. I enjoyed staying in the pool and had lotsa fun.

Daddy stripping me off to change into my swim wear.

Ter Reng! Is my thermal swim wear cool? Can't afford to be sexy and wear trunks till i'm older.

Mummy is not swimming. She gotta standby my towel and all while daddy swims with me.

Daddy, my personal swim coach.

More pictures taken for the wonderful 1st dip.

A neckfloat mummy got for me from the internet. It's good coz it allows me to "swim" freely without someone restricting my movement.

See, i can swim.

I can trap water! Is it every baby's instinct to know how to swim since we've been "swimming" in mummy's stomach for 9 months? No wonder they said it's good to start early.

A group photo of all the swimmers. Cousin Dyan was initially afraid of getting into the pool. But not after mummy hoaxed him with the float that 奶奶 got me.

More pictures with daddy.

A glimpse on the backview of my thermal swim suit. Stylo?

A ride on my float. What a beautiful day.

Daddy On Reservist

Daddy has gone for his reservist since last Tuesday. It's a "high key" training and he'll only complete his reservist on 03/06/08. I can only hear daddy's voice when he calls home every night. I miss daddy so much...

We got bored facing one another at home and mummy suggested going shopping since the GSS is now on! Mummy, 奶奶, bibik fitri & i went shopping at Bugis junction. Luckily with the Babyrock sling, mummy managed to carry me around shopping for more than 7 hours.

Me & 奶奶 strolling in the park near our neighbourhood before heading to the shopping mall.

Resting our foot in Mos Burger. I kept smiling at 2 ladies while they were queuing up waiting for their food. They were so happy:-)

Nov Mummies Gathering

Mummy & daddy brought me to the November mummies gathering with many other babies at Globetrotters on Vesak day. This was the first time i got to meet so many November babies. Come to think of it, mummy have known the Nov mummies for more than a year now. They have been sharing stories and experiences from the very day they confirmed their pregnancy. How nice to have a big group of friends to turn to. Let's hope the babies can hold their friendship together forever.

A group photo of the Nov Mummies and their babies. Actually there were more babies, just that some were either out feeding or napping.

Here's sweet little Ashlyn. Look at the pretty pair of eyes.

This is Jovan. A very well-behaved boy.

P.s: I didn't have the opportunity to take pictures more pictures coz i must have been overly-excited to see so many babies of my age. I refused to drink and take my afternoon nap. Got cranky and daddy had to hug me to sleep. Sigh...else, would have been a good opportunity to source for my future partner. Hee hee...Let's pray for more such gatherings.

My 6th Month Check Up

Went for my last 5-in-1 jab 2 weeks ago. Like the last 2 rounds, i didn't cry at all when Doc Hiew gave me the jab. And thank GOD, no fever this time round. And here's how i scored:

Weight: 8.6kg
Length: 67.0cm
Head Circumference: 43.0cm

Here's some major milestones i've achieved over the past months:
• Turns toward sounds and voices
Imitates sounds
Rolls over in both directions
Taking solid foods well
• Sits without support (For about 30 seconds)
• Mouths objects
• Passes objects from hand to hand
• Lunges forward (I usually will lunges forward when people give me the "carry you?" gesture.
Trying to crawl
Jabbers or combines syllables
Drags objects toward himself

"Everything well in progress" commented Dr Hiew.

Update on my 6.5 month body.

Mummy said to quarantine me at home and monitor to see if i develop any fever after the jab. Feel like a convict.

If everything goes well, i should get to dip in the pool very soon.
Yeah, Bravo!
