4D3N KL Fun

Mummy and i joined daddy for his work trip in KL last week (05/05-08/05). Daddy left one day earlier to settle some work issues while mummy and i travelled a day later so that i don't miss out too much in school and mummy can complete some work before we embarked on our short trip. Since mummy is already into her 3rd trimester pregnancy, this KL trip is considered a bonus trip for us. It's mummy first time travelling by plane with me alone and mummy was certainly glad i behaved myself and took care of her during the trip. It also helped that daddy took all our luggage with him so it left mummy with only a stroller, haversack and me to take care.

We woke up real early at about 4am on our departure day so that we could reach the airport early for our 7am flight. Daddy pre-empt mummy that the departure gate is located right at the end of the airport terminal so we decided to leave home earlier. Nai nai was nice to accompany us to the airport but we felt guilty to leave her alone in the airport when we entered the departure gate at about 5:20am. I slept throughout the journey with little complain of ear blocked when the flight was landing. Mummy gave me a gummy sweet which i declared 'very good' coz it helped to clear the pressure in my ear. We reached KLIA airport at about 815am in the morning but we need to take the express train within the airport to get to the arrival hall. Coincidentally, we met director/producer Jack Neo on board the KLIA express train. He was kind enough to give up his seat to me while his assistant offered his seat to mummy. Oh, must mention that the queue at the KLIA arrival immigration was horrendous. It was slow and a tad confusing with queues meant specially for diplomats empty while the 'normal' queue got jammed up.

After clearing the immigration, we hailed a cab from the airport to our hotel in Midvalley. The 45 minutes taxi journey cost us about RM74.30, pretty reasonable. We reached our hotel close to noon and daddy prepared a surprise gift for me the moment i stepped into the hotel. It's a Buzz lightyear space ranger toy! Very sweet and thoughtful of daddy, isn't it? And this simple toy cost RM70! Definitely overpriced mummy thinks but daddy said it's worth it. That's the difference between my folks, hee...Anyway, just for the seek of comparison. A Ben 10 projector toy which daddy bought during a recent Carrefour sale in Singapore for S$3 is selling at a whopping RM79.90 in Jusco! Now, you do the maths!

I love my new LL books. I volunteered to do some writing before heading to the shopping mall.

Well, after playing with my new toy and writing for awhile, mummy and i headed for lunch at the Chicken Rice Shop in Midvalley mega mall where mummy and i shared a plate of Kid's meal set. After lunch, we did some shopping before going back to the hotel at 3pm and we took a nap till 6pm to wait for daddy to return from work. Daddy finally reached the hotel at about 7pm and we headed for dinner at Secret Recipe.

Daddy realised i was getting bored with all the shopping and makkan sessions in KL. He suggested heading to Sunway Lagoon for some fun on Saturday after he completed his work on Friday. But daddy was concerned that mummy would be bored since she cant join in the fun with her being heavily pregnant. But glad mummy was cool and happy with the suggestion. We woke up early for breakfast at Mac Donald's before taking a cab to Sunway Lagoon. Taxi fare to Sunway Lagoon from our hotel in Midvalley was RM25 including toll charges. The taxi driver alighted us at Sunway Pyramid, another mega shopping mall which neither daddy and mummy expected since they didn't do any home work to find out more about the nearby vicinity since it was a last minute decision to head to Sunway Lagoon. Sunway Lagoon is open from 10am - 6pm and we purchased the tickets (Adult RM80 and kid above 90cm at RM65) that allow us entry to 3 of the 5 parks there, namely Amusement Park, Water Park & Wildlife Park). Though the weather was at a scorching 34 degree celsius, i had great fun, especially at the Water Park. Hmm...wonder when will my next trip gonna be.

Pictures before exploring the place. Actually, Sunway Lagoon consists of 5 parks - Water Park, Amusement Park, Wildlife Park, Extreme Park & Scream Park. But, I don't think the last 2 parks are suitable for kiddos... so we shall stick to just the first 3 parks.

I told daddy that this place is so much better than the water play in the Singapore Zoo. I kept negotiating with mummy for extra time though it's way past our lunch hour.

100% pure fresh fruit ice cream and fresh milk to perk up the rest of my day before heading to Canton-I for dinner. The food at Canton-I was cheap and yummy!

And oppss...coz of the trip, daddy and mummy missed their chance to cast a vote in the GE 2011.

My Very First Encounter with Eavia

Mummy and daddy brought me along for mummy's routine check with Dr SC Quek last Thursday (07/04/11) evening. I was all excited and looked forward to the scan as i've always been getting updates of the scan through mummy after her gynae visits. Mummy and daddy were impressed that i could clearly visualize how the scan goes by after mummy's description coz i would ask related questions and got all interested. For example, mummy told me that there's a screen in gynae's consult room to view 妹妹; gynae put gel on mummy's tummy before commencing the scan; 妹妹 receives food and oxygen from mummy via umbilical cord (yes, i could pronounce umbilical cord clearly when mummy showed me a photo of an application on her iphone once when she was barely 5 weeks preggy). Knowing i'm interested in 妹妹's development, mummy bought an easy to read pictorial book on pregnancy from the bookstore for me. Mummy went through the stages of 妹妹's monthly growth with me and i explained to 奶奶 in mandarin what mummy told me on the following day. I even requested mummy not to scold me too loudly coz 妹妹 can hear it:(

But nothing beats the hands-on experience. Dr SC Quek chatted with me for the longest time during my 1st visit to his clinic. He asked me my name, age, school, whether i'm aware that mummy is expecting a baby, the mosquitoe bite on my forehead, toyed around with my balloon sword, etc. He totally neglected mummy, which of course mummy didn't mind coz that's what she wanted - to get me totally involved and enjoy the experience. Dr Quek asked if i wanted to see my 妹妹, i nodded and he held my hand and led me to the examination couch. Dr Quek asked me to help him activate the button on the machine, i did as told. He even passed me the gel and held my hand to spell out my name on mummy's tummy. Yes, a huge E A G A N was spelt on mummy's tummy. Can you imagine the amount of gel used? The gel was flowing down from the sides of mummy's tummy. Poor mummy had to use lotsa tissue to wipe away the excess before she got herself soaked in gel. Hee hee...

We began the scan with me activating the button again. Here's the conversation between Dr Quek and i during the scan:

Dr Quek: "Eagan, what's this thing that's round and hard?"
Me: "That's my 妹妹's head!"
Dr Quek: "Good!"

Dr Quek: "What's this thing that's moving"
Me: "Oh, that's my 妹妹's heart!"
Dr Quek: "Oh your 妹妹 (noticed that i kept emphasizing my 妹妹) Correct."

Dr Quek: "Now tell me, what's this thing that's long and straight?"
Me: "That's my 妹妹's umbilical cord."
Dr Quek: "Hmm...you're close. But it's her hand actually."
Me: "Ohhh..."

It was such a wonderful experience and i'm sure i'll remember it for as long as i could. And now, i've been asking mummy when's her next gynae visit:-)

For the record, i used to refer to the baby in mummy's tummy as "your baby" when mummy first updated me that she was pregnant. Mummy corrected me and said it's not "her baby" but "our baby". From then on i realised i've a "share" in this baby which is great. I've been talking to 妹妹 few times per day ever since mummy's pregnancy. I will "make milk" and "feed" 妹妹 in the train every morning on our journey from home to school. I also told mummy that i want 妹妹 to have long hair just like Rapunzel, pretty and sweet. I tend to nag at mummy for taking spicy food and cold drinks because those things will pass through the umbilical cord and cause 妹妹 to cough. I'll 'scold' mummy for being forgettful that she is not supposed to carry me whenever she stretches her arm wanting to carry me. Such a nag, i know. But for the seek of my 妹妹, mummy has to sacrifice. Haha...mummy is getting a taste of her own medicine for always disallowing me to eat/do this and that.

I hug and kiss 妹妹 everyday and never fail to emphasize i love 妹妹 sooooo sooooo sooooo much. Mummy and daddy are certianly happy about my reaction and the amount of love i have for 妹妹 on the nitty gritty day to day stuff i say and do. They are worried that i've all along been getting 100% attention from everyone in the family for the past 3.5 years and that i would feel neglected after 妹妹 comes along. They've been telling me that their time and attention will be divided between 妹妹 and i but reassured me that they will love us both equally. I told them ok but no one's gonna be certain what's going to happen in future. For now, i will just enjoy the undivided bonding with them:-)

I Gave Her A Name

As some of you might be aware, i've been promoted to be a big brother. Mummy is expecting a girl and is 25 weeks plus into her pregnancy. Mummy didn't want to announce the news until her detailed scan on 03/03/11 when she was 20 weeks pregger.

Mummy was having a conversation with 奶奶 a day after her detailed scan while walking me to the bus stop after school. They mentioned 妹妹(referring to my cousin mei mei Renise) and i asked which 妹妹 were they referring to because there's so many 妹妹. Then 奶奶 casually asked me to give my very own 妹妹 a name for easy differentiation. Mummy thought it's weird to ask me since she herself has been having problem short listing a suitable name for 妹妹. But to their surprise, i told them 妹妹's name should start with letter "E" just like me, mummy and daddy. I also told them that there should be a "v" in her name. Before mummy could ask why the need for a "v", i came out with a name - Eavia (pronounced as A-Via). Eagan (pronounced as A-Gan) and Eavia. Not bad, i thought and 奶奶 thought the name is easy to pronouce too, even for old folks. Mummy asked how i came out with that name and if i've any friend by the name of Eavia? I told her no and cheekily told her Eavia is my 妹妹 lor. Before boarding the bus, instead of saying bye bye to mummy, i waved goodbye at mummy's tummy and say "Bye bye Eavia".

Mummy was so excited and called daddy to tell him about the name and he too agreed that it's an unique and easy name to pronouce. I am so proud that i'm the one who gave 妹妹 a name. Since then, we've been to referring to my 妹妹 as Eavia which is so much easier:-)

I'm a BIG Boy Now

Ok, i know it's been very long since my last update in October. Just a quick update about me here.

Here's my stats at 40 months:

Height: 98cm
Weight: 20kg

No wonder mummy finds my eyes getting smaller. Must be those chubby cheeks that's blocking my vision. I still love my milk and i can easily wallop at least 660ml/day in addition to my normal meals + snacks. Tsk tsk tsk...Guess i'll lose some weight after attending full day child care in May.

"A Real Camera, Mummy"

Mummy asked me what would i like for my coming 3 year old birthday. So i told her i want a camera, a real camera. I knew she would tell me that i already have the fisher price camera. So, before she could even reply me, i told her i want a real camera, not the toy camera that's meant to entertain the small kids.

Mummy and daddy were surprised because they were expecting yet another request for toys but instead, i asked for a camera. Guess with nai nai's generous contribution to my toy collection on a forthnightly basis, i have come to a point that i no longer need so many toys and would prefer to explore and capture the 'real world' surrounding me, just like daddy. Obviously daddy's reply upon hearing my 'wants' is "let's go shopping at Alan Photos". Mummy, on the hand has thousand and one thing running through her mind. Questions like: Should we buy? Must we buy? What message will we be sending across to him if we buy upon his request? What's the point of asking his opinion if we don't respect his option? Blah blah blah.....

I'm Attending School Soon...

Yes, i'm finally going to school in December. Gone are the days where i laze at home watching TV programme, no more DIY art and craft sessions and no more train rides to Suntec City for my afternoon tea break with nai nai. Come December, i'll be following mummy to school. Wonder how nai nai cope without me around. I'm sure i'll miss her loads:(

To prepare me for school, mummy and daddy brought me to Dr Simon Ng for my Chicken Pox jab last Saturday. I wasn't really prepared for the injection as the visit was actually meant for my minor cough problem. And since Dr Ng deem me fit for the jab, mummy and daddy gave the go ahead. I was a little panicky and moved during the injection. Dr Ng lost control and poked through my skin and i ended up with 2 holes on my thigh. Of course i wailed out loud. Daddy witnessed the whole saga and grumbled that we shall go back to Dr Hiew for all future jabs for he is much gentle.

Singapore Art Museum

Opss...yet another outdated post. Guess FB is simply too convenient for one to download photos and update making blogging a little of a drag for me to sit in front of my computer to pen down the little details in life. Sad but i'll still try to keep the blog alive.

Here's some photos of our trip to the Singapore Art Museum back in mid May. Oh, by the way, did i mention that we've been actively travelling on the Circle Line since its commencement on 17/04/10? It is really covenient and many times we'll just abandon our car and travel to town via train. For this SAM trip, we took the Circle Line to Bras Basah station. How nice, isn't it?
